  • 18 Coins Inn [ECH02; W]– http://www.18coinsrestaurant.com/ (note this is mainly for the restaurant and the booking option does not work; you will need to book via an agent instead). This is a popular restaurant with adjoining hotel. Rooms are basic and quite small, but neat. Pricing from B700.
  • Areca Lodge [ECH03; P,G,W] – http://www.arecalodge.com/; +66 38 410 123; info@arecalodge.com; Built in 2002 but very nicely refurbished in 2012. This hotel offers good sized and very comfortable modern rooms and amenities. Pricing from B2,000.
  • Bay Breeze Hotel [ECH04; P,W] – http://www.baybreezepattaya.com/; +66 38 428 383-4; info@baybreezepattaya.com; This place is looking a bit tired, but currently undergoing some renovation. Pricing from B1,600
  • Billabong Hotel [ECH05; W] – https://www.billabonghotel.com/; +66 38 489 255; bookings@billabonghotel.com; Located in the very heart of Soi LK Metro. This place has a very popular bar and restaurant downstairs with its own bevy of attractive girls working in the bar area. Definitely not a place to bring the family. Rooms are large and clean but furnishing is fairly basic. Pricing from B900 (both low and high season).
  • Butchers Arms Guesthouse [ECH06; W]- http://www.thebutchersarmspub.com/; +66 38 416 217; Average furnished rooms, but with big screen TVs and DVD players. Pricing from B750.
  • Canterbury Tales [ECH30; W] – www.canterburytalescafe.com/; +66 38 720 946; canterburytalescafe@hotmail.com; This is a book café/book store, restaurant, library and boutique guesthouse. It is located in Chalerm Phrakiat (3rd Rd) Soi 25 (aka Soi Chaiyaphum), just near the intersection with Soi Buakhao (near Soi LK Metro). The rooms themselves are a decent size and have more of an apartment feel to them (but only some of the larger rooms have kitchenette). The larger rooms for B600 are definitely a great option. Pricing from B400 (cheaper for longer term accommodation).
  • Drunken Duck Guesthouse [ECH07; W] – http://www.drunkenduckguesthouse.com/; This is another hotel in Soi LK Metro and has a cool bar downstairs. Rooms are pretty basic but do include big screen TVs and decent sized fridges, so not bad for longer stays, especially given the price. Pricing from B520 (cheaper rates for longer stays)

  • The Golf Club [ECH09; W]– http://www.golfclubpattaya.com/site/; +66 38 720 602; This is a golf enthusiast’s club, a bar and grill and a boutique guesthouse (only four rooms). Rooms are very nicely appointed. In addition, there are also condos that can be rented (on longer term) although these are located elsewhere. Pricing from B800 although a bigger discount is available for longer stays (B1,000 in high season).

Rooms are fairly basic but include wall mounted safes. This is a good choice if you are interested in golf tours. Pricing from B500 (Add B150 for high season).

This hotel has an interesting Chinese appearance externally. It’s location makes it a good choice for business travelers. Pricing from B2,000.

Rooms are quite tidy but notwithstanding renovations still appear a bit dated in terms of décor, especially taking into account the price. Pricing from B2,000

It feels like a large guesthouse (59 rooms), with quite a cozy feel, nice sports bar downstairs and a tropical pool and garden area. Located in Soi Arunotai. Pricing from B800
