Soi 10 One of the best places to stay in Pattaya
Soi 10 straddled between Second Road and Pattaya Beach Road in central Pattaya and in my opinion is one of the best places to stay in Pattaya. Soi 10 is not only a great central place to stay, but is home to a number of really nice quality mid tier Hotels. Soi 10 has the added bonus of being a reasonably quiet soi, so easier to get a decent nights sleep. Also its worth a mention is the street food located on the corner of Soi 10 & Second Road, this is a regular haunt for food vendors, good to save a few baht and enjoy some of the tasty street food.
So what else is so good about Soi 10? as I mentioned before, Soi 10 is in a really handy central location. Only a short walk across Pattaya Beach Road, where you will find yourself amongst all the tourist activities of Pattaya Beach, you can take in all the sights of the long crescent shaped beach, just don’t hire the jet skis (consider your self warned). I recommend taking a walk up to north end of the beach as they have some nice spots and less boats. Hire a deck chair, order some food and a drink and relax, it’s a great way to unwind.
The other choice for a short walk is to the main shopping complex, Central Festival. Central Festival is a good destination if you seek a reprieve from the heat and take it easy in air conditioned comfort. Grab a meal from the many restaurants or food hall, do some shopping and possibly enjoy some video games, 10 pin bowling or catch a movie, there is plenty to do and see.
Soi 10 has easy access to a songtheaw, with the ability to travel north via Second Road or head south via Pattaya Beach Road to the night life action of Walking street to take in the visual spectacular of the bright neon lights beckoning you into the assorted clubs.
Although there are a number of hotels on Soi 10, below is three hotels that I think are stand outs and worth a mention, with added links through to Agoda for details and prices for comparison.
This Hotel used to be a regular favourite of mine and is a modern boutique hotel with a real intimate feel, this is certainly extended to the secluded roof top pool area with panoramic views of the city. Page 10 rooms are a good size and elegantly decorated with again that intimate feel. The hotel features a restaurant, poolside bar, car park, fitness centre and 24hr desk. As I mentioned before I used to stay at this hotel, the reason I haven’t stayed here recently is the Page 10 has grown in popularity and the prices have gone up significantly, too much in my opinion, but besides this issue, the Page 10 is still a really nice hotel.
The Page 10 Hotel offers 4 room types, from a deluxe room, 38 square metres to a presidential suite, 88 square metres. All rooms feature a lcd tv and satellite/cable channels, dvd player, in room safe and a bath tub. I would strongly suggest, requesting a rear facing room away from the front of the hotel as the bar on the corner of Second Road is quite noisy until early hours of the morning. (Agoda link here)
The Stay has a modern clean boutique feel about the place and definitely punches above it’s weight with it’s quality to price ratio. The hotel has a stunning roof top pool area, 24 hour security, car park, room service and a fitness centre.
The Stay offers two room types, Stay Superior & Stay Suite. The Stay Superior @ 42 square metres features, 32 inch flat screen tv with cable tv channels, dvd player, in room safe and a private balcony. The Stay Suite @68 square metres features, 40 inch tv with cable tv channels, mini stereo, free wifi, microwave, in room safe & a private balcony. (Agoda link here)
The Sea Me Spring Hotel is focused on contemporary style while incorporating the comforts of home. As the name suggests there is a strong emphasis on capitalising on the sea views. This is taken full advantage of with the roof top pool, the panoramic views are truly amazing, the roof top bar just adds another cherry to the mix. The Stay offers a restaurant, parking, 24 hour front desk and fitness centre.
The Sea Me Spring Hotel has 10 room types, too may to list all the details however all rooms come with a living area, lcd tv with satellite/cable channels, surround sound system, European standard bathrooms and a private balcony. (Agoda link here)
In conclusion, Soi 10 is a great place to stay, the central location offers close proximity to Pattaya beach and Central Festival shopping complex, easy access to songtheaws for travel throughout Pattaya. Soi 10 has a number of hotels to suit all budgets and located in a reasonably quiet soi, good to retreat from the hustle and bustle of busy Pattaya.
